FOR REFERRING PROFESSIONALS
When a client’s tax matter needs counsel, the referral should be easy.
Nyar Tax is federal tax advisory and controversy counsel to business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. A substantial share of the practice arrives by referral from accountants, wealth advisors, family law and estate-planning attorneys, and Certified Divorce Financial Analysts who have identified a matter that needs to move out of their file and into counsel’s.
A complimentary Notice Assessment
With your client’s consent, send us the IRS notice they received. Within two business days, you receive a complimentary written Notice Assessment: the stakes, the deadlines, and the recommended next step. There is no obligation.
If a notice carries a deadline within fourteen days, such as a notice of deficiency or a collection due process request, please call 1.888.995.2015 rather than using the form.

Our commitments to referring professionals
The referral is structured so that it does not disturb your relationship with the client.
The firm does not compete for compliance work. Complex business returns are prepared only selectively, where a matter calls for it, and in coordination with the referring professional.
Engagements are frequently handled as co-counsel, or under a Kovel arrangement with the referring accountant retained to perform the accounting analysis under privilege.
Conflict screening is performed before any substantive discussion of your client’s matter.
For your practice
Accountants and enrolled agents
When an examination has turned, a return position has become a problem, or your own testimony has become a consideration, a Kovel engagement can bring your analysis under counsel’s direction and within the privilege. You keep the client and the accounting work.
Family law attorneys and CDFAs
The firm analyzes the federal tax side of the marital estate: what the returns show and omit, the tax cost of the proposed division, and the parties’ exposure on joint returns already filed, including whether innocent spouse relief is available. A divorce decree does not bind the IRS, so these questions are best resolved before it is signed.
Estate-planning attorneys
Estate and gift tax examinations, a decedent’s unfiled returns, and fiduciary exposure for executors and trustees, handled in coordination with your administration of the estate.
Wealth advisors
Federal tax liens and levies that reach the accounts you manage, trust fund exposure for business-owner clients, and unreported foreign accounts surfaced at onboarding: the matters your compliance department will not let you touch.
Representative matters
IRS examinations and appeals
Employee Retention Credit examinations
United States Tax Court
FBAR and foreign reporting
High-net-worth individuals and entities
Advisory and exposure reviews
Request a notice assessment
Tell us who you are and who your client is. Please do not attach the notice to this form. After a conflict check, our office will send you a secure link to upload it.
